!!! HELP w/ AXLE REMOVAL on LSD tranny!!!!!
I have a LSD/ LS tranny on my b20 in my 97 ek hatch.. I have an axle seal leak on the passenger side. I tried prying it out like I do with non-LSD trannies and it wont budge. I've searched and a lot of people are saying that I'm going to have to break my axle to tip to get it out.!!???!?! Some say I'm going to have to pull the tranny out..?? I just want to know if there is a way to not break my axle or pull my tranny out to change my seal..???? Any help or suggestion is appreciated. Thanks
I have a buddy coming over tomorrow and Im going to have him pull while I pry the axle from the tranny. lets hope that works. but if anyone else has any other suggestions I greatly appreciate it.

Hammer a flathead in the space between the axle cup and seal, it should pop right out. Hammer it in towards the middle of the seal, not in a prying manner.
Use 2 screwdrivers at 180 degrees from each other (one on each side) so the axle isn't being cocked to one side as much. Use the two screwdrivers to wiggle it out. Be careful it doesn't fall in your face. Maybe tie a wire loop to catch it. Also, I have read in the Helm manual that a worn differential/pinion shaft will cause the axles to become stuck in the trans.

I got it out with a pry bar. I had to come from the top to do it.
im glad I didn't listen to the others that told me I had to take out tranny or that I had break an axle.
