Best motor to build for a turbo
I thought my question would be on the site, but I have had a hell of a time finding it. So to start off and not waste anyones time does someone happen to know of a thread I should check out?
I was thinking about having myself a little winter fun by building a turbo engine. However, I was not quite sure what block was the best thing to start with... I will do a full rebuild of the motor, but if I didn't have to sleeve or do anything else it would be a plus.
My goal would be around 400-500hp
I should also mention I have never built a Honda motor before, only v8's.. but the Honda game is just so darn fun!

Is this a serious thread?
Last time you were talking a lot of mess about putting VTEC killer cams in a euro H22 that you supposedly were building. Now it's a turbo and engine project that you think you're just going to whip up for "fun".

Haha, i know i know. I saw a video on vtec killer cams. Thought it would be a fun idea. After truly reading enough about it, I just don't have enough money to fully build a car that could handle them. Still have the Euro h22, not sure what to do with it.
I'm a huge fan of turbos, and read h22's have a weak block.

I've asked the same thing in the past as I want to build up a B series on the side and eventually swap out my D motor for it. I pretty much got the same smart *** remarks as you're getting. To many random aholes but there are plenty of smart helpful fellas too so don't give up.

Ill elaborate:
If we had two b series motors to choose from then the answer would be easy. Meaning motor 1 and motor 2. To my knowledge there is about 10-12 different types of b series motors that were used worldwide. (B16-b20 family tree)
As you know, there are about 5-10 reputible company's that build internal parts for a Honda that all work. When one ask "what is the best" it quite difficult to say which. I never asked what is the best I just went ahead and searched to find out which is mostly used and researched that brand to understand why.
Forgot to mention; many people have had success with all of the b-series motor. Just take your pick and go from there...it's really that simple

I agree, it's about researching and working out what will work best for YOU. No two people are alike, we're all different. What I see as my best maybe totally different to someone else's... Besides, I don't like the word "best", too many people use it so, so wrongly.
