Oil under distributor

Default Oil under distributor

Hello guys,

been almost one year since i can see some oil under the distributor (b16 engine) couple of days i replaced the distributor o ring but still some oil is there!!

I know there is an internal seal, but i hear that it need some professional labor

any help ?

oil is most likely leaking from the vtec solenoid gasket as well

or

you didnt seat the o ring correctly

no, dont think i vtec soleniod.. i oil is at the buttom of the distributor cap

i guess its simple.. remove the old one , replace the new one exactly in its place !!! what else am i supposed to do!

Remove distributor cap.If there is oil inside the dizzy, internal shaft seal is bad.

The distributor carries two seals a inner and an outer seal, most likely it leaking from the inner seal, you will need to remove the distributor cap, then remove the distributor compeltly from the engine, where after you will have to take out everything from the distributor there you will find the seal in the bottom... this video will show you just how to do it your self

It's under the cap?

you need to pull the cap, rotor, and the cover and see if there is oil in there. If there is, the internal o ring needs to be replaced.

not if it is coming from underneath the dizzy most likely no. you would see the leak from somewhere else
