Default Type-R vs GS-R *front* sway bar

Ok, everyone says the GS-R and Type-R 24mm front sway bars are the same, but I was reading an article on Team-Integra.net (Info/FAQ - Type-R - Chasis) that says the Type-R has a ball-joint type for more rigidity. I'm not really sure what that means. Maybe the bar itself is the same as the GS-R's, but something is different in the related hardware. Can anyone better explain the difference(s) in the GS-R setup vs the Type-R setup? Any thoughts on putting this on my LS?

Here is a diagram which shows the 22mm (left - #1) and 24mm (right - #2) front swaybars. You can see the that the 24mm swaybar uses ball-joint type endlink (#6); whereas, the 22mm swaybar uses a "solid" endlink. BTW, both the GS-R and Type-R both use the ball-joint type endlink.

You will not be able to replace the "solid" endlink on you LS with the ball-joint type endlink. The reason why, is because of the orientation of the endlink attachement point. The 22mm attachment point is vertical and the 24mm is horizontal.

Ok, I'm a little confused... Are you saying that I can't use those endlinks with the LS front sway bar, or that they wont work on a LS at all (even if I upgrade to the GS-R/Type-R bar)? From that picture it looks to me like it would fit a LS if I got the GS-R/Type-R front sway bar and endlinks, which is what I want to do. Is that correct?

If you get the GS-R/TypeR front swaybar AND endlinks, it'll bolt right on to your LS. But if just get the GS-R/TypeR front swaybar, it won't bolt in to the LS endlinks.

Ok, cool... that's what I thought. I wanted to get the ball-joint endlinks anyways.

I wish I could go, but I've already made arrangements to move to Longmont that weekend. I'll probably see you guys at the 2nd Winter series event, which I would expect will be at Coor's Field.

I think the Type-R rear sway bar will help me out quite a bit already, but I'll have a nice big garage all to myself and I'm anxious to use it. I'd like to upgrade my front sway bar, but it looks like it's going to cost me $200 for everything shipped, so I'm going to see if I can find a used/salvaged one. Do you know of any junkyards that would have a Teg in them?

I'm planning to run my credit card up some more with rims, tires, springs, and shocks too. If I get all that, I might actually be done mod'ing my car. hahaha, I know that's a lie, there is no end.

That's awesome, what are you going to go with for the springs, wheels, shocks, ect... BTW did you see my newest purchase.

Oh and I don't know of any junk yards, but just call around they are all over in the yellow pages. Are you going with the ITR or gsr front sway bar?

Well, I'm planning on H&R OE springs (0.75" drop but nice and stiff), and I'm undecided on the shocks, but adjustable sounds nice so probably KYB AGX or Koni Yellow. As for the wheels, I like how the Rotas look, but I'll probably jump on any 15's or 16's that look decent if I find a good deal.

Yeah, I saw your thread about the Comptech I/H/E... unless you bought something since then???

I'll probably go with the Type-R/GS-R front sway bar, since I know Honda makes good stuff, but I'll have to find a reasonable price first.

It turns out that my next mod might be a new short throw shifter, because my current one (got it for $15 on eBay) broke in half about an hour ago. I was just shifting normally and the **** goes flying off. Then I looked at it and saw that it broke in half at the bottom of the threads. I'm very tempted to just JB-Weld it back together, since I don't really have the time or motivation to replace it until I'm done moving.
