Default 95 honda civ engine shot

Hey I just bought a 95 honda civic 4dr auto for 900, it was runnin iffy when I bought it but I just got a diagnostic and they told me the engine was shot because of bad rings. Brakes are almost out too. It has 112,000 miles on it, a good shell, good tires and not bad rims, interior is all good. I'm just wondering if I should keep this investment or just try and get rid of it? Also, whats the cheapest motor I could find?

keep it! 900 is what a good shell goes for anyway sometimes. You can find a auto ls swap for like $6-700 at the junk yard or hm motors.com. or sell it for no less than 6-700 bucks and buy a running car with less headache.
