ok so i've just done a mini me swap. (y7 block/y8 head)

now im having problems. i don't know what i've done wrong.

i used a y8 intake manifold, it will start up and idle fine, but when i give it gas it just bogs down and wants to shut off. (not drivable)

now, i used the y7 intake manifold, and it will rev up and everything but it has a idle issue (every start revs up to 3k rpm and drops and keep going up and down). (driveable)

TIMING IS ON POINT. I'VE CHECKED TIMING NUMEROUS TIMES.

i am using the p2p ecu. (civic ex ecu)

i haven't wired vtec yet, could that be the issue why it wont rev up with the y8 intake manifold?

NOW BEFORE YOU TELL ME TO GOOGLE IT OR SEARCH IT, I DID. AND IT SEEMS LIKE IM THE ONLY PERSON THAT HAS THIS ISSUE.

if anybody has had this issue before and knows how to fix it, please let me know. it will be really appreciated.

Sounds like a TPS issue with the Y8 manifold, and IACV/vacuum leak with the y7 manifold

 

i've checked all sensors and they are good. is there anything else that could be the reason?

 

Did you test the TPS with a multimeter? Or did you just glance at the TPS and assume it's fine? Can you take a picture of where your TPS is?

 

no i cant take a picture of it.

but i let the car run and disconnected the tps plug and the engine cut off.
i heard thats the way you can test to see if a sensor is bad or not.
but its located on top of the throttle body, and no i didn't test it with a multimeter

 

did you convert to a 2 wire IACV? Is your check engine light on and if it is post your codes? What is your year/make/model? What year engine did you use?

 

the map sensor is on top of the throttle body the tps is on the back side.

i had a similar issue ... revving ... turned out to be the intake mani gasket was leaking ... "vacumn leak"
potentially something to check for ?

 

Hey guys im kinda really a noob wen it comes to hondas sience i just bought my 1st ever civic nd heard about the mini mi swap witch sounds like sometin id really like to do so ma question is what kinda block my car has its a 93 honda civic lx 1.5 l4 16v i dnt knw if i can even do a mini mi swap cuz i dnt knw what all the Ds nd the Bs 15 &16 nd Ys nd blah blah mean so can i do a mini mi on that car or not if so what head should i get hg tb ne sensors nd ecu i need in my parts list to do a good job sience the cars goin to be for the wife we cnt have it have ne probs ne responce would be great guys
