1985 ACCORD - HELP!
HELLO, I AM TRYING TO HELP A FRIEND FIX SOME STUFF ON HIS 1985 ACCORD, WHICH IS IN GREAT CONDITION... ONE OF THE ISSUES IS THE HEATER BLOWER MOTOR SWITCH THAT NO LONGER WORKS AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEY CERTAINLY BUILT THESE CARS WITHOUT THE INTENT OF EASILY REMOVING ANY DASH COMPONENETS. DOES ANYONE HAVE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO REMOVE, WHAT ORDER AND PICS OF ANYTHING WITH REGARDS TO DASH REMOVAL? AT THIS POINT EVEN RADIO REMOVAL SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AS I DON'T WANT TO BE THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR BREAKING ANY OF HIS DASH... LOL! THANKS TO ALL IN ADVANCE!
Are you sure it's the blower switch? Does it work on high, but not medium or low? Or is it completely dead? If you get full blast, but not the other two settings, it's going to be the resistor box inside the blower motor.
The heating control unit is all bolted onto the HVAC box that has all the flaps and blower thingies in it. It's quite a pain to replace. You can see in my video here how it's all attached to the box that is under the dash, and actually stays on the box when you pull the dashboard out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dY0hu_ytIK0
