obdIIa gsr swap into obdIIb LS and speedometer is too fast
chief complaint:
odometer in my car now is registering too fast. a 65 mile trip shows up as 80 miles on the odometer. even with 205/55/15R tires (using over sized tires should register less than 65 miles on the same trip, not more)
History of present problem:
a few years ago, i swapped a obd-2a ECU and b18c1 from a 99 gsr into a obd-2b equipped 2000 integra L. obviously, i am using the gsr tranny, b18c1, and obd-2a ECU in the newer body. I am also using the 99 gsr gauge cluster but I swapped the speedometer from the LS into it so I can maintain the same odometer reading.
I do not have the gsr cluster anymore and it doesnt work anyways because the ABS light stays on, and the coolant and fuel gauges are all off when i use it.
assessment:
tho the LS speedometer is close to what the gsr speedometer would register, the speed difference is not consistent throughout the speed range so i can't just pop the needle off and reposition it to match my tachometer.
do i need to replace the speed sensor at the tranny with one for an 00 LS? can I do something to the wiring behind the cluster like add a resistor or something?
thanks everyone. this is driving me nuts because i have to use the GPS to figure out my speed and it's getting really annoying having to depend on it constantly.

ok well that may be the problem. maybe the calibration on the ls speedo differs from the gsr gear. maybe see if anyone who's swapped in a gsr trans w/ vss has and still retained the ls cluster has had the same issue.
either that or there is a problem with vss/gear. however, that usually results in an irradic reading

and if the VSS gear is independent of the final drive and gear ratio, the gsr gear ratio shouldnt affect the readings on the LS speedometer.
