Default All Motor D16z6 156whp

10/27/12 Dyno Day
The car was tuned 2 months ago by DB Perormance, It made 153whp 116wtq on their dynamic dyno. This was my daily, now that I've put a good 5000+ miles on it i wanted to try it on MAPerformance's dynojet and see if it made any difference.
3 pulls maxed out at 156whp 121wtq.. not much of a difference but all i really think what made the difference was the change in temperature. it was around 40-50 degrees out.
I didn't get a print out of the graph but i should be getting a digital file of it sent to my email from a friend.

Bottom:
Stock D16z6 block 75mm bore
All stock internal OEM parts balanced (Crank, rods, flywheel, pulley, piston)
P29 pistons used
Kings main and rod bearing
Reused stock oil pump and water pump with unknown mileage

Head:
Stock D16z6 Head
Ported polished myself
3 angle valve job
Stock valves
Crower Springs and Retainers
Crower stage 2 camshaft
AEM camgear
Cold NGK plugs
Edelbrock performer X manifold
B16 60mm Throttle body
Stock Injectors & fuel rail
3in blox velocity stack with 3in intake piping

Misc
ARP head stud
DC 4-1 header
Greddy Spectrum Elite 2.25in exhaust
Crome
92 octane

D16z6 vs B18c1 (skunk2 IM, stock header, 60mm exhaust + tuned)

Pretty low compression for that cam. If you swapped to higher compression pistons you will see a good gains, taking full advantage of the cam. It is kind of hard to believe that motor made 153whp with a stock Z6 bottom end, DIY head work and a cam.

Well, I would say the engine is above 12:1. Not bad at all but it still can put more... 15Whp more are easy to get.

Highly probable with a very nice head it can make 175Whp.

Hahah, thanks for coming out.
Gotta love the Dave for putting on the Gundan Style song for you being the only honda on a VW/Audi dyno day. lol

I've never seen anyone with that header...
I'd love to test that header back to back with my EdelBrock header... maybe next spring

great numbers even with the small collector of that dc header. You can probably see a bit more power from a smsp or custom header. i think 2.5 inch intake pipe would be better i think the 3inch is overkill. bigger is not always better with the d-series. Just my opinion though not trying to nit pick on your set-up just experience. either way im impressed its a solid set-up with potential for more.

well more close to 2inch collector but around 1.82". you can always have the collector modded to a true merge collector, reverse cone reduced to 2.25 to get that anti reversion. should help a lot actually its what i wanted to do with my old 4-1 dc header.

i would like to see that as well even though i would put my money on the Edelbrock header since it has stepped primaries that taper down once they get to that long collector.

I also have a bisi replica header to try out.... the collector is so so, but we'll see if it makes power. lol

I agree with this about the collector. What could end up happening with a bigger collector diameter can be a little bit loss of overall power and a significant reduction in torque, at least for my experience. The DC 4-1 is a very good header for this set-up. Sure This car can run high 13's with slicks and some weight reduction :D

The power ban in the graph looks awesome.

thanks for the input guys. I bet it'll run low 14's with slicks. i've seen stock gsr's swaps with slicks run 14 consistently.

I bet it will run low 13's with 22x8, just do a good burnout and make the car more lightweight for the track day. Remove seats and every part from interiors that you believe can do improvements in the weight. Good luck!
