Default Towel got caught and rotated with cam

ok i tried to give the best title ..but heres what happend...i was cleaning some grease near behind the motor ...stupid me while the car was on and the towl got caught and rotated i saw my cams slow down ..i mean now the car idles like a cherry 800 tops no lower it use to be a tad high....

anyway took the car for a spin and drives perfect

im just scared because right after i turned the car off scared...and tried to start it and it wouldnt after like the 5th time...now it turns over everytime....kinda odd

My buddy actually did this a few years ago on his b16. It didn't hurt anything.



Check the timing.

If its running good, nothing noticeable id say you got off easy, and be very happy.
Just like the previous post id check the timing to be 100% sure you didnt jump a tooth.
Good practice checking your timing anyway

to be honest the car idle better, it used to be in the 1000,1200 now it idles 800,900 tops...

could it be possible , my motor benefited from this ? not saying it was done on purpose but its really strange...

Double check your timing, the towel probably threw it off some teeth. Just to be sure.... That's odd.

^ yea only thing i could think of is u jumped "back into" timing....maybe ur belt tensioner was a lil jacked n it setter straight ?
