Default Checked out a 93 VTEC lude...

I went and checked out a 93 vtec lude for my friend.. anyways it was teal, was bone stock, had 106k miles on it, did NOT have new timing belt, did NOT have new clutch. also.. the idle was 1.5k rpm and it kept fluctuating, but a honda mechanic told me that tahts a common problem with honda's and they just need to clean the injector or something.. oh yea.. and the headlight was cracked from a rock... the guy was asking for 7500 but i talked him down to 6600.. but he wont go lower.. u guys think its a good deal? also its pink title..

actually, no not that great of a deal. i've seen a few advertised within a couple hundred miles of nj for roughly around $6000 for a 93.

you pay $6600 for a 93 model.

if your friend can't do the work, he's looking at another $600-$700 in maintenance. sounds like the car was just driven and given oil changes in the past 9 years or so.

resale value does also have something to do with regular maintenance.

we're actually going to check out a 95 milano red vtec tonight w/ 98k miles and supposedly clean title for 7500..... if its in good condition we'll get the 95 if not... we will just drive over and give the guy with the 93 a deposit so we can pay him all cash on saturday... one good thing happened when i test drove the 93, when i punched the living **** out of it.. the poor asian dude selling it was scared shitless..lol.. he said he didnt know the car could go that fast.. also plz lemme kno if the fluctuating idle and high idle is normal and if its an easy fix...

thanks for the offer but my friend will not buy a modded car.. if its modded its proof that it has been raped in the ***.... by me punching that bone stock 93 and that guy tripping means he barely punched it... and besides.. ur in NY...

buying a modded car doesn't mean it's always been raped.

as for the cost of 4g vtecs. some people are ridiculous with the price they ask. private value of the 93-95 vtec's just aren't htat much these days.

that 95 for 7500 sounds like a very good deal.

the high idle probably isnothing big. however, 6600 with maintenance added on is not a great deal. it's actually a bit expensive.

see what maintenance record the 95 has.

Not a bad price. I think he could get it for a little lower. I LOVE the Green color. That is the BEST color I have seen on most cars. I wish mine was that color.
Hey man, what headlight is cracked?? I have a set that I am trying to sell. Someone might be interested in the driver's side..so if you need the pass. side we can work something out.
Good luck. I hope he gets a good one.

I guess i'm lucky. I just bought a 1995 Prelude VTEC w/ 126k miles (all required maintance has been completed and logged)..and I bought it for only $6000...has a clean title...also came with a nice sound system, nice set of wheels, lowered w/ eibach pro-kit...flawless condition. I say just keep looking around for some better deals...goodluck
