What is the best struts to get for an 96 ek hatch?
Umm, I don't know where to start, so i'm just going to take a stab at it.
First, you haven't given us close to enough information. What coilovers/springs do you have? Spring rates? what's your budget?
Also, being slammed, or pretty low can destroy ride quality. And these cars don't have struts, they have shocks.

Sorry i'm completely new to this whole thing. I recently bought this ek and I want to get into working on it. Everything is pretty much stock. The guy I bought it from said it had h&r springs but i don't believe it truly. It is lowered about 2 to 3 inches.
it's important to know what it has so we can reccomend a shock.
But IMO, I would look at a tokico illumnia, or Koni sport.

Yeah i already have money aside for painting hood red. and also to buy glass lights. Ordering a front lip and back also soon. Also want to get a spoon wing
Anytime you lower a car you can toss "riding smooth" right out the door.
You have to scarifice looks and handling for the smooth.
Any of the suggestions you were given will suffice for a good suspension.
Some of the suggestions might be out of your budget, but either way if its the best you can get for for your budget you should be ok.
Just dont over "Spoon" your car.
IMO its all just overhyped expensive crap.

Definitely look into Koni Yellows with Ground Controls.
But if you wanna keep your "H&R springs" or whatever they may be, look into Tokico Illumanti or Koni, like 98civdx said.
