Bad gas mileage on a 02 Civic Si (Canadian EX)

My girlfriend has a 02 civic si SOHC Vtec that is bad on gas mileage, does anyone on honda-tech knows why this is happening? My b16a gives more better gas mileage on 94 octane.

does it have a check engine light on ? If ur o2 sensors arnt working right that can do it ,

the engine light did go on but i rested it. does that mean your 02 sensor isn't working?

It could mean that, but it'd be best to get the code read by an OBD2 scanner. Most auto parts retailers will do that for you, for free.
