and you think cutting a hole in the strut towers and notching the frame will help your cause?

people that do this are hardparkers and have no business driving on public streets.

i never said that alone would make it lower, im not planning on hard parking it i doubt any performance upgrades will happen to it any time soon, not even planning on getting lca's or anything unless i do want to track it........just want a lower car and im worried about that problem before i go get different coilovers or anything else to lower it, its my car dont worry about what is going to happen to it. im building it for ME not YOU.

LOL, whats your current suspension setup anyways?

Just curious. I don't think you'll get any help cause it's just a plain old stupid idea.

cut them then re box them in.
and it depends on how low you wanna go, you may wanna slightly notch the frame, but I wouldn't do anything over a half inch.
if you plan to ever track it I wouldn't cut any of that tho.
look in the slammed thread, or slammed suspension setup thread.

im on eibach ground control with sportline springs, was talking to a friend (he works at a shop) and he said hes done cars similar but instead of a square or anything he puts just a little circle with the plasma cutter just so the tip can go through he said a circle doesnt cause any weak spots, and thanks to all you haters for your input thats not needed, EE2bitsk your a cool dude lol

I don't think you know what you have bro. What you are saying you have doesn't make sense. Post a link to the setup you have.

More specifically what is the shock? Way more critical than the spring or sleeve.

OP, I do not recommend this. Quite simply there is no safe way to do what you seek.

Ditto the above^^^, cutting the strut towers in any way, [square, round or any holes] will weaken the tower and that is not safe, not for you or cars/people around you if things let go when your driving especially if, "occasionally race on the freeway".

I am no fan of "lower it till it scrapes" it is impractical for a DD, all that leads to is scraped up oil pans and damage to other things under the car.94

eibach ground control struts dont exist, maybe youre on a different strut with those springs, post a pic. if you leave them open they will be weaker regardless of the hole size.

if he had them re boxed in, with just more clearance he will be fine.

correct, just the front ones tho with the smaller sportline springs, actually fits perfect with the coilovers at the lowest setting, the old springs bounced too much i could tell they were getting old. i decided im not going to cut it unless i somehow box it in or reinforce it which i dont see it happening, so probabally not.

he says he had coilovers on stock struts and swapped them for lowering springs cause coilovers were too bouncy. how does that make him stupid?
