sad to report ITR1148 is no more..... rewind 30 days ago.....
i Made the biggest mistake of parking the R at my inlaws on the street.... came back next day and it was gone....
A little History of me and the R.. I owed it since FEB 2002. only had 50k miles when purchased. Last I remember it has about 123k. I always took care of it, blood sweat and tears. blah blah yes you all know how this is... F-ing sucks! I was too sad to post before but now is time.....

now onto the insurance part..
I received my "settlement" report and let me tell you its Bullshit... The INS company is giving me what "fair market value is" , $7665.31 plus tax and license and "mods" total of $8470.02
after I read all the paper work and looked through the settlement report. I came across what they are using as "comparables".
Car #1 2000 Acura Integra GS with 120K ,
Car #2 2000 Acura Integra GS with 193k ,
Car #3 2000 Acura Integra LS with 113k miles...
WTF how are they trying to compare the R with a GS or LS?????? The 3 comparable vehicles came with a Vehicle Configuration adjustment.
They are adding car #1 $718.42 , car #2 $1708.54 and car #3 $687.59 "to make up in differences".
I have State Farm Insurance and from what Im getting is that im **** out of luck because there is no ITR comparables in the AREA with in a 75 mile radius where I live.... so they are basing the value from those 3.
I am trying to figure out what is the best way to go with this....

Don't agreed to their terms and don't cash in the check, Ins will try to screw you over in anyway. Try to say no to their offers as much as you can. GL Sorry about the car.
Don't accept the offer. Try to find ads for ITRs that are for sale or were recently sold. This is why I don't like For Sale ads of ITRs edited with "*SOLD*" or removed entirely after the ITR is sold.
After rejecting the offer, you can try to see if they'll give you more. If not, most likely they will give you the option of arbitration. You get your car appraised (yes, kinda stupid since the car is gone, but that's how the insurance company is) with their appraiser and another appraiser of your choice. If they don't come up with the same value, you'll most likely have to pay for a referee out of your pocket. Then you'll be bound to whatever the referee decides. There's a chance he could go with the lowest value so it's possible you'll get screwed even more.
Good luck.

When I spoke with the adjuster he said that the other cars didn't matter because they are not in the "75" mile radius that I live in... Which is crap... How can I make them use other TYPE R comparables that I was able to find... I found 5 and the average is about $14k, but they are not in my "live in" radius......

Anyone else with State Farm insurance and has come across something like this. I need imput ASAP please!...... I know other insurance companies pay "blue book value" Im most def going to be looking into another insurance company , I'm getting fuckd by comparing the R to GSs and LSs . Not my fault there is NO Rs for sale in my area... That's just it it's Rare.....
Sorry for your loss. The 75 mile radius criteria is bullshit. Insurance companies don't like to payout and they'll screw you over so, don't give up the fight with them. Best of luck
Show them production numbers for the ITR. Make them realize it was extremely limited production vehicle and the cars are not simply a lower model with minor improvements. Show them what the car cost new compared to what those comparables cost. And don't even bother with your specific adjuster, go to his boss or his boss's boss.
I have State Farm as well and when my first R was stolen I got lowballed as well. I scheduled a meeting to discuss this with the adjuster (arbitration basically). I brought in kbb info, autotrader details of other cars similar accross the country and a list of all modifications with receipts. I ended up raising their offer by neary $5000.
Strangely my Comptech Icebox was compensated as a refrigerator though.

Hey man, I live in the bay area and also have state farm insurance. You're going to need to hire an arbitrator and pay them about 500 bucks to be kind of a liaison between you two. They'll go and do the research and fight for you with state farm.
I had an E30 M3 that was stolen a few years ago. I valued the car around $22K. They came back and wanted to give me $15K for it based on comparable, of which all the cars were dinged up, and not clean. The E30 M3 is as rare and desirable car as the ITR. I've searched the bay area and there aren't any or many E30 M3s for sale, nor ITRs (i've looked).
Just go find an arbitrator. In the end I got 23.5K for my E30 m3. There are plenty of cars here on Honda-Tech for sale and auto-trader that they can get a decent idea.

I am currently battling GEICO INS with this bullsh!t, I know it sucks. This is the second time it has happened to me. You be a honest citizen, work hard and pay insurance and then BAM you become the victim. I had a beautiful, stock, mint EM1 with 82,000 miles, then some jerk rear ended me and I am fighting for the correct value, so far it looks like I can only get 6,829 dollars. That is bull how they can low ball and say it is just.
I know it sounds wrong, but next time someone hits me I am going to the ER and talking to a lawyer. I will not get screwed a third time.

Perhaps it is time for those who drive their ITRs only on weekends to look into this:

Classic Automobile: A motor vehicle ten or more years old, which is rare or of special historical interest because of exceptionally fine workmanship or limited production

Don't settle
Find the going rate for type R's nation wide and submit them to your claims adjuster. Literally flood him with them.
I went through this exact thing with USAA back in 2008.
Just call BS on every offer they give you. Do not take it laying down. his job is to get you to settle for the lowest amount possible. Your job is to make him fail at doing his job.

I sent in all my info I found on the Type R model.. Faxed in a whole 20 pages to the adjuster.. Now I wait n see what he offers... I didn't put on there what I would be willing to take,
I just let him know all the facts , he can study them then get back to me... I will call him tomorrow AM and see what he says...
Yes I agree... Another member brought this up.. Which is worth a shot with all ITR owners that have State Farm insurance now... I will most def look into this once I get my settlement and look for another R...
