09 Civic Hybrid Rear Brakes Dragging Intermittantly.
I have a 09 Civic hybrid, 120,000 miles. Occasionally when I arrive at a destination the rear wheels are very hot and you can smell hot brakes. This problem comes and goes. It happened several times when I first bought it at around 70,000 miles and now seems to be more frequent, maybe twice a week, usually in the morning on the first leg of my trip. After I shut the car off and drive the second leg, it doesn't usually happen again that day. I have replaced the rear pads myself about 2 weeks ago and lubricated the slides and everything. That's not the issue. It does not seem to be an E-brake issue since I don't always use that to park and this problem comes and goes at various times. Also, one time when this happened I pulled the wheel and cracked a bleeder and there was fluid pressure at the wheel. I know the hybrids have a way to hold the brakes to prevent rollback during a shutdown / restart, so maybe something there is wrong. Has anyone seen or heard of this issue? I'm afraid this will be expensive, especially if I don't know what it is before I go to a dealer. Thanks for any help!
