I paid $1000 for my completely stock 94 VX with zero rust. The clear coat was peeling and had rear qtr damage but I was looking for a completely stock car and all the mechanical were in good working order!!! Unfortunately I didn't know the abilities of a VX when I bought it because I bought the hatch originally to do a gsr swap and boost.
I would say they are fairly hard to find because the hand full I have found since purchasing mine are in much worst condition for a lot more $$$.

The answer is: pretty rare. Esp in the USA. Not as much in Canada. They're still rare but there's less of a chance they're hacked up by teenagers. Clean ones go in the $1K to $2K range here, but usually will need rear qtr repair unless it's from the west coast.
it really all depends where you live. up here in northwest washington there is always a couple of them on craiglist. i go to san diego every year and i never really see any that are in good condition

Too many of these youngsters ruined the good look of this car. They should buy a messed up one and build it from the ground up.

There's one rolling around Bonita, CA. drivin' by an older couple. I try to flag them down, but was already too late.
I was lucky and bought mine new and still have it. I paid $12,500 which included the A/C because it is so damn hot in Texas during the summer. Dry heat of course. This picture I scanned of my car barely one month old at the time.

it's a pita, I was determined to buy one and was going to fly to sf to drive one back. I seen them really cheap in other states but expensive as heck in ca. I almost went to portland because it only had 150k and was a 1500. The guy seemed flaky though and I decided to just settle on my dx coupe that was only a bike ride away. I average around 42-44 mpg on my mixed driving commute. Just shift around 2k and often will shift 1-3-5 and coast in gear to a red light.
12K. Lucky to own it for so long, and I'm guessing she treats you well. props to you.

You never got tired of it?? I'm very amused of "original owners." I hope I find one like yours.

Just got one here....well it's not really clean or stock, but gets great mpg lol. though they are super rare and will probably get more rare as time goes on seeing how gas keeps going up
sometimes they won't have the wheels but don't let that scare you. You can still find the correct wheels on CL from time to time for. I have a pair of vx rims on my car, just can't find the caps at a decent price.
