Default Extremely Nooby Question

I have a 96 Civic Coupe DX. My question is, when looking for new rims, do they have to be a certain lug pattern/number of lugs? If I'm not mistaken, I thought they always have to be a 4 lug pattern. Also, when people say specs like 250/45 (in regards to tires), what does that mean??

The bigger the first # is on tire the wider the tire, the lower the second number after the tire width is how thin the tire is and the third number in sequence is the size of the rim in inches.

Um, no.

45 would be the aspect ratio, not the "height". You can have 2 different tires with radically different aspect ratios, yet the same "height" (size of sidewall).

R is for radial, and has nothing to do with size.

All of this is spelled out in the link provided in the first reply of this thread...

the width of tire face maybe 205, 250 is just too huge. 45% of the width of the tire face is the size of sidewall. 16 is to fit 16 inches rims. HTH
