Just IMO, if you're doing a kswap then go with an 88-89 because they're lighter.
The Japan built ones seem to be the lightest...

Hmm I thought they were all the same 88-91 HF/Si, I know thats what I read on hybrid racing site. I might be wrong as this is my first EF-K swap. Which did you use?

http://hondaswap.com/reference-mater...weights-28662/

You'd be surprised how much weight they've gained over the years...

The 88 std is 1933 lbs

Compare that to the 91 si at 2291 lbs

he speaks truth i've had both mine 88, and a 89 on the scale and there is a weight difference and they are also built different.

It's also going to depend on the country of origin:

Jhmed in the vin indicates built in Japan.
Those are more desirable IMO bc the build is better and they seem ti be lighter.

2hged in the vin indicates built in Canada.
Those are seemingly heavier and the qc seems to be a little lesser.

I already have a teal 91 Si hatch with JDM front end conversion and I have the K in the bay already I do not want to get a different shell. I just need the harness so I can finish my tuck and paint the engine bay.

I am not arguing I know there is a difference but I have had this car for a while from D to turbo B and now K series and I like it so no need for me to look for new shell.

Black R I apologize this whole time im thinking to myself that you were talking about the actual K conversion harness being lighter lol Im thinking to myself like how much lighter could it be. I do understand I have a heavier shell and rear disc and soon ITR 5 lug.

are you looking for the actual engine harness or the sub harness that connects it to the chassis?

I already have the engine harness just need the conversion harness now to join the chassis/engine.

If nothing comes available in the next week or so I will just shell out the 400 and grab one online.

Ok. I should be able to make you one if you like. I just gotta find my k20 harness and make sure I have the matching plug. Buddy of mine has one for an EG, I can make a copy of it and do the adjustments for an EF that's no big deal. Lmk

Sorry to derail your thread.

I have a 91 si with a c5 swap and itr 5lug, so you know I'm not talking out my ***.

I recently purchased an 88 std to save weight - no other reason.

I was just trying to look out for you - as weight costs you in acceleration, braking, and handling, whereas power mods only help acceleration.

Good luck to you in your build.
