The SiR swpa comes with either the PR3 or PW0. Look on the ECU and see which one it is. The engine redlines at 8200 RPM. BTW where did you get the swap from, they hsould tell you what ECU you have.

the PR3 can be had as both an auto or a manual, both with different redlines. The Manual is 8200 and the Auto is 7800.

The Pw0 ecu is basically the same as the pr3 as far as engine management so it has a cutoff of 8200 as well.

You my friend have an automatic pr3.

OK- i did some research- and it says that the PR3 was used on the SiR and the XSi, and the PW0 was also used on both..?? i always thought one went with one car...but whatever. The B16A1 motor does exist. It's an EDM motor, tho.......not a JDM. It was used in the EE8 CR-X VTi and the EE9 Civic VTi...but it only has 150 crank hp. The first gen b16 JDM SiR and XSi motors are stamped "B16A". I know this for a fact because I have had both of them. My first motor was a 5 million series motor out of an EF8 or EF9, and my current motor is a 1 million series out of a DA6 or DA8 XSi/RSi. Hope that helped clarify a little

Oh- I forgot. There should be a sticker on the side of your ecu that looks like a bar code. In the code it should say somewhere "PR3" or "PW0". I'll bet that you have an automatic ecu........or possibly have tried to hit VTEC when your engine was cold. The sure-fire way to tell if you ecu is a manual or automatic is to take off the screws that hold on the two metal ecu covers, and look at the circuit board. The upper level board should have a white stamp on it somewhere. It will say "AT" for automatic trans, or "MT" for manual trans. If yours is an automatic (AT) ecu, then you can convert it to manual by getting it professionally chipped....then you will also be able to get rid of that pain in the *** 112 mph governor as well
