EM1 header suggestions when your slammed
Ok, so the EM1 I bought a few months ago is finally about to get dumped but the 4-1 header that is on it (ebayish it appears) doubles the piping under the engine which reduces ground clearance and we all know a header with a hole is NOT desireable. So I figure ill buy a simple 4-2-1, they are just as good and cheap.....until I go to look for them. All day long I find D series, B18, etc but only a very FEW for the B16 and these are expensive DC Sports and other brands. I assume I could use a B18 hearder but if so then why is it not specified in the ads? The engine is and will stay stock for now as I have a 200 mile a day commute so I dont want or need some high priced header at this time. I would even be happy with a stock Si header if that is the best option.
Whatchyall think? What are yall running on a LOW EM1 or EK with a B16?

B16's have a shorter deck height than the B18/B20. That being said, Headers for a B18/B20 will work on a B16, but B16 header may not work on a B18/B20 due to oil pan clearance issues.
Sorry, I do not have an EM1 or EK to give you any experience info. But I thought you may like to know at least that much.
I have heard of people using Traction bars as a way to prevent the front of the car from diving into the pavement and messing up the header.
You could try a SMSP -Style Tri-Y header that has the pipes running in a single row versus have a 2x2 configuration like you current header.
Smashing headers is just a side effect of going lower. I have already dented my headers on my del sol and I am lower ONLY 1.25 inches all the way around on stock wheels...yeah...its lame

That makes sense, I could prolly use a b18 header but would have the same issue, hanging too low lol. And yeah I am all too familiar with issues with being low, I cannot even remember all the damage I've done to cars and trucks over the years.....sheeese, the price we pay for being low
Thanks for the info man!
