I have a 2002 rsx type s. Car will start only when i have me foot on the gas pedal and will die if i lest my foot off the pedal. It will idle around 500 rpm if you hold the idle at 1500 rpm for about 3 to 5 min and slowly drop rpm but still doesn't want to idle... I think it could be the tps but not sure.. Just wanted so advice form someone that know about the cars. thanks!

 

Do you have a multimeter? Test your TPS. Check the voltage.

 

2 main things to check before resorting to spending a dime: tps, iacv (if its stuck closed). tps crapping out will usually hunt idle, usually...

 

The mil light finally came one and it said map sensor reading to low so I'm guess the map sensor is going bad. I cleared the code took the sensor off cleaned it a little just trying to see if something stuipd like that could fix it but it didnt.. So I just ordered a new sensor... Hopefully that will fix it..
