Default Want to get an idea for times for pretty stock GSRs and Ls/Vtecs in Ef's?

im going to run this weekend but i want to get an idea for what other people have run. i ran 13.52 with lightened doors, stock timing, full exhaust and 92 gas with a totally stock b16 in my rex with full interior. so i am preferably looking for times faster than 13.5's. if possible i want to basically know 60fts, 1/8, 1/4 mile and trap speeds even though every track is different.

SECOND TIME I RAN MY CAR PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY (PIR)

yeah 13.52@100.9 i only had air intake, and dragunfire exhaust with 2.5 crush bent piping. nothing special. stock ecu. oh yeah one more thing.... just before i passed the 1/4 mile i bounced off the 117mph speed limiter with my 20x6x14 slicks on hx wheels

FIRST TIME I RAN MY CAR AT WOODBURN DRAGSTRIP

oh yeah i forgot to add, with street tires i ran 14.27@97 on an 80 degree day and i got my 60fts down to 2.24. that was also full interior but header out, and stock timing once again.

THESE WERE TWO DIFFERENT TIMES.... hence.. one is with slicks and lightened doors (PIR) and the other is with full interior and street tires (woodburn)

If you bounced off the 117 MPH speed limiter just as you passed the 1/4 mile mark then why is your speed 100.9 MPH? Did it slow you down that much when you hit it?

don't buy it at all!! that would be a really impressive time for a full interior stock motor. i'm thinking more like 14.6ish. and with a 117 mph you should be running about a 10 second quarter.

I'm not buying it either...

There's NO WAY you bounced off a 117mph limiter! With that kinda MPH, you'd be LOW into the 12's, maybe even 11's.

Haha.

*sniff sniff*

OH, and I also noticed you're in Oregon....complete BS with your altitude.

2.24 60 footers with 117mph trap speeds. Your VTEC must really kick in yo.

like i said before all you people cannot read. i bounced off the 117 mph limiter with my 20 X 6 X 14 m/t slicks on HX wheels at 14 psi. if you guys had any brains you would know that this dramitically shortens your gear ratios and tricks your speedometer into thinking that you are going faster than you really are. the diameter of the slicks are 20 inches if you didnt already know that. if you dont then you shouldnt be posting **** like "i dont believe this..." because you obviously dont know what you are talking about. anyways... the stock wheels are 23.3 inches in diameter over 3 inches taller which the speedometer thinks your actual size of youre tires are. so if you dont get what i am trying to say then f*** off.

if you guys really want to find out if my bottom end is stock then pay me for a head gasket, oil and my time and i will pull my motor apart and show you. also if you think i have cams or something you can come take a look at my first gen b16 cams that i still have in my car.

just so you guys have something to complain about....

about 2 months ago the thrust washer on my STOCK b16a, stock pistons, stock cams, stock header... the one that ran 13.52 with let me clear this up for the last time. WITH LIGHTENED DOORS (40LBS EACH) FOR A TOTAL OF 80 LBS FOR ALL YOU MATH GENIUSES, 16 DEGREES OF TIMING, WITH 92 OCTANE GAS FROM CHEVRON, DRAGUNFIRE EXHAUST WITH 2.5" CRUSHED PIPING FROM A STOCK HEADER AND CHEAP INTAKE. if i think of anything else i will let you guys know. back to the motor. i had a dented oil pan so my oil flow wasnt the greatest and when i took off the oil pan i found a chunk of metal all beat to **** that turned out to be half of a thrust washer. the total damage ended up destroying piston 4 and chiping piston 3 a little bit. so i threw the block away and now i have a COMPLETELY STOCK GSR BLOCK and my first gen b16 head and cams still. tonite with 9.8:1 compression with p30 head gasket... 0.2 points lower than stock gsr 10.0:1 compression, i ran 13.20@102.49mph on my m/t 20x6x14 slicks (same as last time) and at the end of the track this time with my new spoon 4500 vtec/ 8500 redline chip that i installed two weeks ago i hit 8500 in 4th gear with a y1 tranny going 122mph on my speedometer. and i also backed that up with a 13.23 @ 103 which also bounced of the 8500 rev limiter. now some of you smart guys that actually know something might ask if i have any headwork for reving to 8500 and the answer is no... i am scared shitless hitting the rev limiter but my tach is off inside the car and i didnt know if i was actually hitting it until the last time i ran my car and i finished at 103.5 but only 13.59 with a 2.25 60ft (shitty) i was running consistent 1.84 60fts all day. anyways back to my rev limit my tach was only showing 7800 when it cut out but the mph was up so im pretty sure i was bouncing off the rev limit a little bit. when i had my stock chip in i could hit 117 with stock tires on the freeway at 7500 in 4th so im pretty sure 123 is about 8500.

once again if nobody believes me pay for a headgasket, oil, etc and i wil pull my motor apart and show you

Yeah I understood what you were talking about with the gearing but the power to weight equation didn;t seem to work out?!?!?! I didn;t say bullshit but it wasn;t working out with the calculations I was making...

You say lightened doors but you still run a full interior???? How did you lighten the doors? When you say 40 lbs each, is that the weight of them or the weight saving. I;m looking at this mod next.

I;m making 137 whp from a B16 with I/H/E and I thought that was about right. My car (at the last meeting) was 1800 with me in it???? How much does your car weigh?

FYI, I aint no hater but please tell me more about your setup...

Wassup I'm Mike's friend and I've worked on his motor and car with him, but yea I cut out the doors with an electric grinder and cut-off disk on his air compressor. I was at PIR last night with him on his 13.2 run and I was also there when his stock B16 was running 13.5. I'll take some pics of his doors and his car to show all you. Thanks for you guys that actually believe us that a STOCK B16 can run 13.5 in a CRX. Now i just wanna get rid of that B16 head and toss a GSR on it with some cams.

my car when i raced at woodburn oregon for the NHRA event it weighed 2045 with me in it without doors (doors are 80lbs lighter). my stock ecu was messed up then and vtec cut out at the end of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear so i had to put it in 5th gear, because when vtec pressure isnt high enough it cuts the car out at 7000 i still ran 13.78 @ 96. im pretty sure it was my vtec press sensor because with my new ecu chip i have no problem because the sensor is now disabled

EDIT: sorry i forgot to answer your last question i am running a stock flywheel with just a ACT heavy duty 6 puck clutch i think its H015(old style not h025) or something pressure plate.

hey guys i am currently going to school at oregon state so im like and hour and a half away from home. i dont have any pics of them but the best way to explain them is to cut around the perimeter of the doors and remove all hte reinforcements inside. i would be careful cutting the most extreme edges for they will cause the doors to get very flimsy. i left most of hte edges around the front and back of the door where the hinges and latches are. then for the windows you can either use real lexan or "lucite" plastic which can be found at any local Home Depot or Ace TrueValue hardware store. i used one sheet ~ 4x8 each window is about 4.5ft long and 2 ft tall so a 5x5 sheet should be plenty if you can find one that size. the next time i go back home i will take plenty of pictures for you guys.

let me know if you have any more questions i will be happy to answer them.

just so you guys know i got an extra set of doors to do all of this so dont think i am rolling around on the street with these doors. the only reason why i cut so much out of these doors is because i wanted them as light as possible and they were free so why the hell not.....
