Default 96 Civic DX Sedan Build - PHAHEEM

Day one:

Si Wheels:

EX Cluster Swap:

I transplanted my original odometer to keep my original (low) mileage legit

Cleaned some of my interior parts in preparation for new head unit/LEDs in the A/C unit:

New Head Unit [Sony MEX-BT4000P with Bluetooth Streaming & Hands Free]:

Bought the appropriate Metra Wiring Harness and soldered the wires together:

Also bought the proper housing/bezel/trim around the radio from Crutchfield to make it look clean:

And I swapped my cup holders for the 99-00 cup holders:

LEDs in the cluster:

And I stuck (2) #74 bulbs in my A/C...sure there's hot spots, but I don't mind, I like the look of it:

To be delivered this week: NGK Iridium Spark Plugs + NGK (blue) wires + Fram Fuel Filter, OEM visor clips, OEM Key

Coming Soon:
Depo red/clear tail lights, Integra Leather Front-Seats, leather shift boot w/ gray stitching (when I find a better console), leather arm rest cover w/ gray stitching, AEM Short Ram Intake, Aftermarket fog lights (?), maybe coil overs (to give it a slight 1" drop, and PAINT JOB

This is my daily driver that I plan to keep for a long time, so my focus is on mods that will make driving it more comfortable, without jeopardizing the car's/engine's longevity, while still making the car look/feel modern and updated.
I'm even unsure about the AEM intake - the only reason I'd do it is for the slight gain in MPG and throttle response - not for the sound, look, nor "performance".

I average about 38 MPG in mixed city/highway, and on this last tank I was able to do 420 miles. So I'm trying to keep the car in the best shape possible to possibly increase the MPG and make the car last as long as I can.

I plan to keep it as my DD even when I'm done with law school in about 1.5 years.

Replaced my shifter console and shift boot! Shift boot is leather with gray stitching (to match my interior), got it on eBay. It's pretty good quality.

Pretty sweet, you wont be happy with it unless you drop 3+inches we are all honda guys and we all know that is a part of life. Get some nice coils and your car will get mad love.

Yeah that's In the cards eventually...but being that this is my daily driver I'm concerned about ride quality and comfort. At most I've considered dropping it 1" just to eliminate some of that wheel gap.

What type of coilovers do you recommend? And are coilovers easy to adjust to any height on whenever I want? I don't know much about them...

Before...

After...DEPO Tail Lights!

Bought these on eBay for ~$70 from "Car Parts Innovate"...fitment is pretty good, and makes a night/day difference in appearance. Just need to buy some amber bulbs today.

These are next...

It hasn't rained yet, so I don't know. They seem pretty solid and sealed

It's been quite a week, made a lot of changes...

For starters, here's a small addition. I know everyone talks about how they're pointless, and especially on a D16Y7, blah blah blah...but it's my car.

Just need to secure the intake to the left side of the car tomorrow...

And this is something you've all got to do, if your car is your daily driver. I ordered the cover from eBay, and the seller is located in the United Kingdom! Nevertheless, it arrived within 10 days, and it's top quality leather. Even smells like fine leather.

Here's their eBay store: Top Gaiters Boots - Click Here

[No, they're not paying me a dime, but I like referring a solid quality product when I see one.]

Our current (stiff, uncomfortable, worn out) armrests:

Top Gaiter's premium leather cover - I opted for gray stitching to match my shift boot and interior...

Added an old sponge, to make it soft...

Final product:

And for fun, threw in some LEDs in my reverse lights...also picked up a 48-LED board for my interior dome light! Pics coming soon on that...
And the guy who sold the LEDs to me, also threw in a free pair of LEDs for my license plate (pics also coming soon).

The LEDs are good quality and much better than some of the crap I've bought on eBay. They all fit snug into the housing and haven't caused any problems.

Those of you in Orange County, CA looking for a set, here's the contact info on the dude I bought them from. Really nice guy.

you should put a y8 intake manifold on your car, it would give you more noticeable power and doesn't cost much.
