2006 Honda Civic MPG
Two months ago, I moved from Chicago to Syracuse. For some reason, my civic, that used to give 35 mpg (+/-5mpg), but now it is giving me only 20mpg. I have no idea why. I recently tired the tired, got an oil change (let's say about 3 months ago). The car has 150K miles. The RPM is affected at lower speeds but at higher speeds >60mph, it is normal at 2RPM. I went to Autozone to check for any codes and nada!!!! I cannot emphasize that it was really random. At lower speeds, I feel like the car is working harder than it should for the given speed.
Any suggestions. So far, I was thinking of:
- O2 sensors
- Ignition coil
- Catalytic converter

Your car won't be throwing any codes unless you have a CEL on.
What year/spec is your car?
What are your driving habits like?
What is your daily commute?
Tire pressures?
