Gas Pedal on 5th Dies
Whenever i drive freeway, and im on my 5th gear, sometimes my gas pedal dies, however i press the pedal, it just doesnt give gas to the engine, what i do is i downshift to 4th and then shift up to 5th again and itll work fine again, any idea whats causing this? total random. 1999 honda civic EX with d15b engine obd2
What do you mean it dies?
How fast are you going when you try to speed up in 5th gear?
Is this a new problem?
Don't expect to go from 60-100 in 5th gear very fast hahaha. There's a reason people downshift to 3rd on the freeway when they're trying to accelerate fast. The last gear is made for coasting/freeway.

i dont know how fast i was going cause my speedometer doesnt work, and to your question, like when i cruise in freeway at 5th gear and let the pedal go and step on it again, its not working, like its not sending fuel to the engine.
But ONLY in 5th gear?
Do you ever have problems starting your car after it has sat for like a few hours or over night?
EDIT: I'm kind of thinking fuel pump.. That's the only thing I can think of that seems logical.
BTW, any CELs? Does your CEL work?

no starting problems. CEL on but no code thrown, with OBD scanner and/or jump. CEL is on poblably because of the knock sensor and vtec solenoid since im using OBD2 on a d15b engine. only happens on 5th gear.
