hi new to this

I just had to have the drive shaft changed on my Honda Civic EX and got the cam belt changed at the same time. now i have issues with the car popping out of 5th gear.

could the issues be related?

 

Those issues are not related. The driveshaft replacement might be related to the transmission issue... but it all depends on what they did during the driveshaft replacement.

 

yeah, not 100 % on what they did. i know that a new drivshaft was put on and they topped up the transmission fluid, but that's what i have on the bill not sure what else they may have done. they have it back at the honda garage as i had to pay them £80 to tell me what was wrong when i already knew so why after that did they not check properly. will find out tomorrow.

But any more thoughts what they could have done when carrying out the replacement that might have now caused this issue a week later would be good, don't want to pay a bill if they messed up

 

ok so the car has been checked by honda and they can't figure out what is wrong with the transmission. they said the only way to find out is to remove the gear box and check it then they can tell me whats wrong and how much the total bill will be. But it will be £450 just to remove and refit the gear box.

Any idea's out there as to why it pops out of 5th gear when i go above 60mph?

no, never had a problem with the gearbox in any way. and now the problem seems to be getting worse. they want £460 to take the transmission off to see what the issue is before they will give me a bill for it, that does cover putting it back on as well
