my mom recently purchased an RSX Premium, and with only 5000kms on it the thing absolutely STINKS like rotten eggs.

the dealer said this was due to the engine being too efficient for the gasonline available, and there is nothing they could do.

does anybody else have this problem?

she's thinking of selling it for a JETTA!

here we have the RSX Base, RSX Premium and RSX Type S

the premium has everything the S has, minus the 200hp motor and 6spd (actually minus that little sub as well)

 

Sounds like the car is running to rich.

 

I think its Canadian. Sounds like its a base rsx that is fully loaded to me.

 

The story I've heard for that smell is that the catalytic converter is being broken in.. I had the same in teh first few 1000 KM's in my Type S though it was never really all that bad and was intermittent.. After about 5000 kms it never happened again..

I've noticed that it seems to be worse on the premium and base RSXs

Go beat the crap out of the car and get it really hot.

If it doesn't fix it, at least you had a fun time.
