If you have a wooden pallet, or a spare tire underneath you can easily stand it on the oil pan. Tie it down nice and tight with whatever you have.

I transported a Z6 motor in the back of my dad's truck - wooden pallet underneath, just had the motor standing up. The motor was tied down to the pallet, and to the truck.

The D16b2 oil pan should fit like a glove...

sideways =

I brought my Y8 home by standing it up in the picjup's bed and tying it to the box. worked fine!

make sure the valve cover screws are tight if you go sideways, the jackass I bought the ZC off of didn't drain the oil and left the valve cover loose, this led to a very messy situation.

Just throw it in the back and tie it to the tailgate/side of truck. I just threw a hf swap in the back that I got for $50 and didnt tie it down. I was just using the swap for parts so I didnt really care. Buddy decided to floor it around a corner, motor slid into the tailgate with a big boom. We both looked back, then looked forward and traffic was stopped. Slammed on the brakes, motor slammed into the bed/cab and bent in the cab about 6". Good thing this was his parts truck so its no biggee.

if it has no tranny, you can use a 2x6 to make a frame for the motor to "sit" in. what my friend did was measure the oil pan and make a frame to fit around it. it worked out good.

you can see the wood frame here (at the bottom of the pic):

Hahahahhahh I was wondering the same exact thing. I guess it can ride in the passenger seat.

But how did you lift the engines into place. Did you need to use the engine lift and transport it also. Or is it possible for a couple people to lift an engine?

Only 200lbs? Are you serious. I thought they weighed like 500lbs. I know a tranny actually doesn't weigh much, under like 80lbs I think.

Good news. I was worried I would have trouble transporting my engine when I get another one.

these aren't cast iron v-8s here. hondas are pretty light.

I think d16 motors usually weight in around 185 pounds or so.

I know a 426 Hemi weighed like 700lbs.

How much would a ZC weigh?

We drove to Sacramento, midnight performance in specific, and bought a complete b16, motor, tranny, axles, manifolds and all. It was funny, they had it on the cherry picker and asked where our truck was and then i pointed out my 88 hatchback. it fit with just half of the back seat folded down and a person in the backseat. the only part i was worried about but luckily didn't happen was breaking the rear glass.
