Replacing fuel line. 93 Del Sol Si.
the gas line going from the tank is rusted and corroded very badly. it's just about ready to leak. how do i go about getting this replaced? can i buy it premade and just put it on, or do i have to go to a mechanic who has the kit to make the line? any advice would be appreciated
You could get the line from a dealership, or you can get line from napa or something, you would just have to bend it yourself. Not sure if you can buy aftermarket pre-shaped. Depends on if you have a budget or not. Personally I would go with oem, but if you're on a budget, look at napa or the like.
Since you say the line "going from the tank" I'm guessing your talking about the feed line. If my memory serves me correct I believe that is a 5/16 line. You should be able to pick this line up in 20' rolls from parts stores, such as advance auto, for about 20 bucks. However you will have to bend it yourself. >>go pick up a 6 pack and use the glass bottles as a tubing bender<<
Then you'll need to consider fittings. If you are able to salvage yours you can use a flaring tool and you should be set. However I would recommend bringing your old fittings with you to the parts store seeing as they are metric and parts stores tend to cater more towards standard. just my 2cents
