Will Civic Si Brake Calipers Fit RSX TypeS?
Will the brake calipers off of an Si or any other Honda fit on the RSX TypeS? I have a 2002 RSX TypeS and my front left piston is seized up something fierce. I am supposed to be going out of town for the weekend so I am kind of in a hurry to get it fixed. AutoZone and the other part stores don't carry them locally and will take a couple days to get one in. I only have a Honda dealership locally, no Acura dealership. I was hoping someone could tell me whether a Civic Si or any other Honda uses the same caliper as my RSX so I can goto the Honda dealership and pick one up from there?
The part # for your left front caliper is 45019-S6M-A01. I searched a few Honda parts sites, but there were no results, so I'm guessing this particular caliper was not used on any Honda models. As far as I know, Honda parts always use the same number in both Honda and Acura parts catalogs, for obvious reasons. Sorry.
Base RSX, EM2 (01-05) civic, and EP3 use the same front calipers.
The caliper will physically bolt up the the hub, but you will need to use a base RSX or 04-05 ep3 rotor, which is 1.5" smaller than the RSX-S.
Just get an RSX-S caliper.

This is not true.
EM2/ES1 (01-05) Civic and 02-03 EP3 have the same front calipers.
RSX base and 04-05 EP3 have the same front calipers.
They are very similar but they are not the same. The pads are also different but I believe the rotors are the same between all years.
