Default Which seats to get for my EK?

I have been searching and reading for about a week and still found nothing that is set in stone.

I have my 2000 EK coupe and would like to find seats that work better than the beat up stock ones that came with the car.

Price is a very important factor, I'm trying to do a halfway budget build since my Supra takes most of my money. I would like to find a seat that sits lower then the factory ones, but still under 3-400 a seat, and that is max. I have a pair of Sparco seats I was going to put in my Supra, but they are just too tall for the civic.

I am almost 6FT tall and around 260-270 lbs, I work out a lot and my shoulders are very wide so to find a seat that fits me is hard.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have ruled out anything NRG, since it apparently gets a lot of hate and negative reviews. I'm still in the mix about the Sparco R100s as no one can really comment that I have read whether they sit lower than OEM seats.

FYI, I would like a seat that reclines as I have a kid and it would be nice that if in rare instances we take the car he can still fit into the back.

del sol seats sit really low if you're looking for decently cheap.

what are you looking to spend?

The cheaper the better to be honest. I don't mind going the OEM route, it's just that the seats feel all sorts of messed up, I have owned a 97 coupe, 98 sedan, 99 coupe, and 00 SI and NONE of the seats have felt as screwed up as these do, I'm not too sure why.

Max spending I would like well under 750 for both seats and rails/sliders.

Can you change the covers for the Del Sol seats? The stripe down the middle would look horrid with all the blue interior parts I'm throwing in.

Looks like I found them, they look nice, but to find a set in prime condition will be hard. Do the rear seats bolt up? or is that just for sedans?

I have the rear seats in my sedan but im not sure if they would work in a coupe. I know for sure the fronts will work in the coupe's. I bought the rears from a guy on here. hold on ill chime back in and give you his name if i can find it.

fronts :
id say maybe some gsr leathers / gsr cloth / 99-00 SI's
those r oem so it shud be cheap.
idk prices in ur place but in WA brides r generally 3-600 with rails to fit in an ek

rears:
for coupe, id just get a 99-00 si rears as those shud be GUARANTEED fit
but u can always try GSR rear's

We all know what we really want is Sparco carbon fiber seats. But we can't all afford that. Did you look into Momo?

I had a pair of 95 EX on my 97 Hatch, they are lower and more comfortable than the stock ones, or you can try to source a pair of USDM ITR seats, they are also lower and comfortable.

I look a bit at Momo, but I didn't see too many options for reclining seats, and the ones I did were around 650+ a piece

I appreciate everyone's ideas, I live by Springfield, IL so I can travel to STL fairly easily, but still not a big market for OEM seats around here, and most that I find are all worn to crap.

I will keep looking, and thanks myEKsedan, I will contact deschlong here in just a moment to see if he has anything.

Try to sit in an S2000 some time. Personally I love the seats. If you fit well in them, you can probably get a pair for within your budget.

I heard that the S2000 seats don't slide up far enough to actually get people into the back seat, is this true? I ruled the seats out because I have a child that would occasionally use the back seat (with a car seat) If they slide up and forward far enough I will try some out.

I've read somewhere that there's a way to install the fold forward thingy from a 2D Civic or Integra onto the S2K seats to make it work. Might be worth reading into.

I will search for hopefully a write-up on this, thanks for the info.

FYI I got word from deschlong but he lives in Canada and shipping would be crazy to the US.

99-00 si seats are terrible, but they also won't fix his problem of the seat being too high.

S2K and Del Sol seats are both great.
Nice S2Ks go for ~$500 a pair.

del sols. i'm 6'3 190lbs.. the things have alot of shoulder room, and have good lumbar support. they are super ugly, but pretty comfy.

ive also owned the f1spec version 2? the mugen replicas that fit ppl with waists over 38?... and they sit SUPER low.. if you combine them with superlow rails. they just arent as comfortable on long drives.
