Default Changing the auto shift '****?'

I'm getting a '97 CD7 in the near future, coming from a 2004 EM2, and I was wondering if there's any way to change the auto shift **** thing. I really liked how the button was at the front of the shifter instead of the side, it just felt better. I'm wondering what my options are as far as changing out the shift **** on a CD Accord? I want something that looks like it could have been stock on this car, just without the button on the side. It's kinda trivial, but it'll go a long way towards making the transition from my baby to this car easier.

You'd have to change more than the ****. Probably the whole shifter.

Ok, is there anywhere I can go to look into this? I'm willing to do something like that, I've seen one swapped over to have a leather shift boot look. I know most people don't usually customize their slushbox cars like this, but driving a car with a stick around here is borderline unreasonable. If this isn't possible without doing something lame like taking the shifter assembly from my old car and adapting it to work with this car somehow, then I'm not really interested, it's just that on my EM2, if you removed 2 screws from the front side of the ****, you'd expose a stalk, and it seems reasonable to me to think you could really put whatever kind of shifter you'd want in place of that. Just a thought, I guess.
