db7 with jdm b20z automatic swap need help...
Hi I just got an 94 4 door teg automatic with a jdm b20z swap with the 2wd crv tranny already on the integra but the wiring is not done yet I bought it like that.
I have a ecu for the motor I never done a auto swap but done many swaps before and wiring also so I think I can handle it.
My questions are:
Does the 00 crv use a separate ecu (tcm) for the tranny? I searched and can only notice it on the 4wd not the 2wd.
I dont mind using the jdm ecu we have no kind of inspections out here so theres no problem with that but I would like it to run like oem also I dont wanna switch to manual I want to keep it auto and would like to use the crv tranny that it already have on there.
If I use the b20 ecu and basically convert my car to obd2b is there anything else I need to worry about??
I have an extra auto p75 ecu and a ls tcm if I have to use the p75 and chip it can I use the tcm from the ls onto the b20z crv tranny?Or use the ls tcm with the jdm b20 ecu?
Thanks in advance

seperate tcm, yes. and if it were me, i'd just stay obd1. use the p75 ecm, obd1 distributor.
also, the b20z was never available in the japanese market. it's not a jdm motor

I wish i could just use the ls auto tranny but it didnt come with it and who ever did it did a full swap so its already on the car with custom brackets for the crv tranny...
You sure the b20z has a tcm? Because on obd1 the ecu has 3 plugs and the 4th witch controls the tranny goes to the tcm but on the ecu I have all 4 plugs are on the ecu just like an ek and so far it looks like I wont have no problems but im not sure yet im still working on the car ill post my results so it helps other people that decide to do this because I really cant find anything on the internet about it.
The reason im avoiding changing the tranny also is because of the cost of things out here where im at an also it would be so much easier to find a jdm type r motor than to get everything to switch my car to manual.
I wish but im really not doing this to go fast just trying to use what I got plus my wife really likes the car and wants to learn but if the crv tranny has to go ill do the manual swap.

What intake did you use? In my ek Civic I have to use an LS intake and LS transmission because as far as I know neither fit an ek. I'm a bit curious how I'm going to be able to use a P75 auto ecu without a TCM to run the transmission but as far as I know all I need is the modified obd2 to obd1 conversion harness from rywire.
It says p75-6 and the date is says 00 ...its a low mile motor imported from japan stock came with everything even the crv fuce box with the jdm ecu p7j RHD engine harness everything attached I got the car with everything when I bought it but the other owner just bought the engine a week before he sold it to me I was supposed to do the wiring for him but ended up doing it for my self I actually traded my 91 Ef with a d15b 3stage vtec for it so I think it was a really good deal specially here in dominican republic cars are way overpriced but most of auto parts are brought from japan...

If you convert to obd1 you have to use the TCM obd2 doesnt its all in the same ecu as far as I know so your going to have to wire in the ls tranny to the tcm correct me if im wrong.
Are you saying I shouldn't convert to obd1? Or are you saying I'm going to have to convert to obd1 and keep my obd2 to run the transmission like a tcm does?
If your not planning on doing mayor upgrades since your auto why even convert to obd1 ? If I ever do a manual swap its because I want to go faster and then I would convert to obd1 but if you not going to tune your ecu why even bother converting to obd1? because thats the only reason people want obd1 is because you can tune the ecu.
If your car is obd2 and you have your obd2 ecu and everything is already wired I suggest keep it that way unless for some reason your building a auto race car.
But if you ever decide to change your tranny and do some upgrades then yeah convert to obd1...
You can also run both ecu I guess if you really want to but I would only do that if I really had to.
But thats just my opinion.
