Default my EM1 build thread

Whats up guys.
my name is alex, Im from central FL.
Got a automotive Vinyl shop in Brolando called "Garage Number 7"
this is going to be my Build thread for my EM1.
I have been working with mostly Benz and BMW in the past, but always have a soft spot for the EM1's and always wanted a Electron blue one.
Interesting story with this one, if none of you wanna hear it, i understand, just scroll down for the pictars, but those that wanna kill some time, read on i guess

So im gettin married in November and Father inlaw is from MN, and he runs a pretty big honda shop rebuilding these things. When i told him i wanted one, He said he has a shell.. Shortly when i came to visit, he presented me with a Gift... a EM1 that he peaced together from a bunch of other SI's hes got around the shop... I was blown away by the kindness. at this Point i dont really care that it was a theft recovery, its a Gift and an awesome one at that. he was even cool enough to throw in some SI seats from an 09!

here are some phone pic, but soon ill be getting around to actually doing some nice pics...

plans for the build.

decent drop
decent springs / air ride
repaint it
keep it clean and OEM looking for the most part.

here are a few pics of reference to my taste from my previous vehicles.

as you can see i like my cars looking OEM. that being said, i think the stock EM1 is an amazing platform to start to mess with and still keep it OEM but clean ....

so here we go, pics of my em1 as it sits today.

Here are the Si Seats fitted and rewelded for the right size.

anyhow, this is it for now. Looking forward to posting more pics and getting to know a few more people. As my experience has it every time i venture in to a new forum i always end up with a good new friend or two..

its cheaper than paint. and good for winter stuff. depending on the color you want too. also be aware of the materials you use.... if u want longevity stay away from in house brands Di-noc or hexis. if u want to do long term, Oracal 970Ra or scotchpring 1080 is the way to go. i personally love oracal, much more forgiving if you are new to it.

Did some lighting work last night, Nothing pisses me off more than seeing a clean car with yellow plate lights, so i upgraded my lighting to LED... looks nice.

Also the fuel pump was whining really loud so i thought perhaps a time to change it ... indeed it was...

got the car Mocked up to what i want it to look like when final suspension components arrive. till then this will have to suffice for a few weeks... Just need a tad smaller profile size tire ... 185/65 FTL

I congratulate you and all the others who have a diamond in the rough and the patience to make it shine. Mine happened to be in better condition then most just needs paint, but thumbs up to bringing it back to its former glory

Aww man... You got the Type R lip?
I wish you got the Mugen lip, it looks soo much sicker for 99-00.
Type R looks really good on 96-98.

you gonna put LED lights inside? Looks pretty sick too.

I like how its coming along.

im not a fan of the mugen lips, i like simple with less holes the lip i have IIRC is oem Si lip. Not gonna do much crazy stuff on the inside with lighting. might retrofit some red Mood LED's from an e39 BMW but thats about it
