I would like to know how to keep my keyless entry with a aftermarket cd player in a 97 civic ex
I was reading and I saw that if you install a aftermarket cd player that you loose the keyless entry and I dont want to loose that so I would like to know if there is any other way than splicing into the facory wiring harness and leaving the stock one behind the center console thanks guys
Hi, Sorry to say but you must keep the original radio in the car and connected because the keyless unit is in the radio.
Yes, you must keep the factory head installed, but you can also add a second aftermarket headunit.
They make a harness specifically for this application if memory serves me correctly...take a peek over at installdr.com for more information on this particuar installation...it's got everything that you need.

You buy a t-harness & flip the oem radio around so that the front is facing down & the u shaped top is toward you & install it into the botton of the dash below the factory radio spot behind the lighter. The T-harness will plug into the car the oem radio & the aftermarket radio & alls good.
