Okay so my trim on my eg is a little lighter on the fender then my door trim, i was wondwring if theres a way to restore them or do they just glued on to the door, just curious i havnt looked much but any info on these would help, im thinking about just pulling them completly off if they are just glued on

 

Im talking about the black trim on the door and fenders*

 

The side moldings on 92-00 civics are held on with clips. They are however relatively easy to remove with the interior door/side panels off.

 

I've always used Back2Black. It's made by Mothers, and is easy to find at Autozone/Advanced Auto. It makes the door trim, black side skirts, doors, and side-view mirrors shiny and black like they're brand new, and easily lasts for 6 months. Do it with your regular wax schedule, and they should stay looking fresh.

That's not been my experience with Back2Black.

I find that it lasts till you hit a puddle, or it rains.....then it's GONE!

I did this method to my CRV last week (with the exception of that I prepped it with rubbing alcohol to remove any oil or grease). Came out great

Yea.....same here. Depends where you live. I bet it works great in the south, but up here in the northeast, you are going to have to re-apply it often to stay looking fresh.

 

i have no experiance on the civic trim but being a long time jeep owner/club member i know a lot of guys with the black plastic fender flares that would use a heat gun on them and it would take them from dull grawyed out to shiny black again not quite sure how long it lasted but theres plenty of videos on youtube about it.
