Icon2 3G Prelude Speedormeter and Temp Gauge Issues

Just picked up this 88 prelude SI for next to nothing. Want to make it right before winter comes. Okay so first off as soon as I turn the key to the run position the temp gauge pegs its self past hot. Its not grounded because when I unplug it off the temp sensor it goes all the way down. I have tried multiple temp sensors (ones known to be good). I also tapped into the red wire in the harness and hooked up an autometer gauge and it reads perfectly. Im pretty sure the issue lies in the cluster its self. Also speedo was not workimg so checked the speed sensor on the tranny and the cable was missing so just for the hell of it I pulled out the cluster and found that there is no place to thread a cable on back like on my 92 integra. So I guess my question is did any of the 3G preludes come with an electrical speedometer while others were cable? This car has 91 bumpers, tail lights, steering wheel, and maybe a 91 cluster? Also anyone tried using 86-89 honda accord quarter panel repair patches on a prelude? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
