1994 Accord EX Runs with Non vtec ECU... Will not with Vtec ecu
OK just got the car 3 weeks ago and it has no power over 4000rpm... Stutters and stalls at 5200rpm. Checked my Vtec power and i didnt have any.... hmmmm So i pull the ECU and its a POB A51 ... Mine is a EX 5speed...
Why???? Anyways I could only find a POA A51 on short notice plug it in and it runs for a split second then shuts off and throws a code 15. I have voltage on all the right spots on the dis. Plug the non vtec ecu back in and it runs. Any Help... Trying to fix this tonight.

Not sure why the car would have a Non VTEC ECU. Is this a US EX or Canadian EX? Does the vlave cover say "VTEC" on it?
Should try and see if you can find a 94-95 P0B 5spd ECU. Sounds like the P0A-A51 might have an issue, does the code 15 show up when the Non VTEC ECU is plugged in?

It is a US Vtec. No codes with the non vtec ecu. Only the Vtec one. Im wondering if they rewired something to make the ecm work with the internal coil Dis?
The ECU pin locations and signal wires going to the ECUs are the same for both chassis. They shouldn't have had to change any of the ECU wires that I can think of.
Do you have the 94-95 Accord shop manual and wiring diagrams? and
Do you know any of the history of the car?
PM sent!
