My mom got this CRV brand new back in 2001 and shes having some issues.. 2002 model
She lives 4 hours away and Im coming on here to try and pinpoint the cause.
I have a 99 civic that doesnt have crap like the OBD2 cars have. I like everything nice and simple. I can find whats wrong and fix it. Im not too familiar with these newer cars that are computer controlled.
Symptoms:
She said a few days ago that she smelled "rubber burning" ,then the next day..
Issue 1: AC works one day, then next day it doesnt.
Issue 2: Door locks work one day then it doesnt.
The door locks and AC issue are linked. meaning when the AC doesnt work, the door locks dont work either. When the AC works, the door locks work. So I dont think its the relay cuz I doubt theyre connected. Could it be the body module?
Now the dome light has been burning bulbs for 2 years. we can care less about that light working or not. I figure theres a short from something/somewhere but who the hell knows where.
Ive read on here that if the AC compressor is on its way out, it will draw too much amperage and overheat the relay. This makes sense on why the AC cuts out. But what causes the AC and door locks to cut out at the same time.
Thanks for all the help.
