Bad Alternator?
So....more and more problems arising...
2001 honda civic ex 5spd.
This past Friday night, I headed to the car wash to meet with a couple buddies for a cruise.I shut the car off for about an hour.. Then, when we left, my battery light turned on. I was fine for awhile until my stereo turned off...We got to another stop location and turned the car off again..It wouldn't start. So I got a jump to take it home. On my way home however, My stereo turned off again, my abs light went on, followed by my lights dimming, hazards barely working, THEN every single light went on (check engine, cruise control, abs, srs, etc...) I barely made it home because the car kept wanting to die again.
So....First thing I checked was the battery but it tested good. I still have the alternator in the car and taking it off later tonight..do you think the alternator is to blame for all this? Have not checked fuses yet but I doubt its something small like that.

def the alternator. had that happen in my s2 and had to give it gas at stop lights to keep the motor from shutting down.. get it tested first at any auto store but im almost sure there gonna say its bad
I had never heard of all the lights going on almost all at once! haha. but cool, i'll get it checked out after work. Thanks for the input.
Anyone else have any experience with this?

yes. same exact thing happened to me not long ago. just find a radiator place that will rebuild the original one. there are "brushes" inside the radiator that regulate the charging and over time they begin to wear out. i personally advise a alternator rebuild because i've seen and tried aftermarket an aftermarket one and they are noticeably heavier and it ends up putting an extra load on the motor and there is loss in horse power. really, though.... its up to you.
UPDATE:
Tested the alternator, failed...I just went ahead and bought another one.
Installed it, problem fixed!
Thank God. TIGHT SQUEEZE!! but well worth it...

another way to test your alternator at home. Have the engine running and disconnect the battery.. if the engine still runs, then your alternator is good.. if the engine die, then of course the alternator is bad.
Very BAD advice. Never disconnect the battery while the engine is running. You risk a voltage spike that can cause all sorts of trouble.
