I found a used acura integra on craisglist
it's a 2001 gs coupe with 170,000 miles on it. He's asking $4000, but will go down to KBB value of $3600, not a penny less. It has a clean title, and the outside and leather is in decent shape.

1) is $3600 a little low for this car?
2) i plan on taking a look at it tomorrow. What should i look out for when driving it? (i'm also taking it to a mechanic just to be safe)

i recently bought my first car: an 03 audi a4 but got ripped off; check engine light turned on the same day that is supposed to cost $5000 to fix. decided to sell it and buy a reliable integra so i really want to make sure this integra needs nothing.

Rust on quarter panels. Evidence of water in or previously in spare tire area. Passenger footwell wet. Check engine light comes on during bulb check when key is switched to on then turns back off after the car is started. I could go on for quite a while.

If your paying a mechanic to look it over you shouldn't have a problem provided he/she is a good mechanic. I could go into a lot more detail about certain things but it's a moot point since your paying a mechanic to look it over.

 

Smell oil and light on fire on dipstick if does rings bad allowing to much blowby
Drop oil on hot exhaust manifold if it bubbles coolant mixing head gasket issue
Gears should shift with light resistance engine off and while driving
Push on wheels top bottom front rear any movement felt ball joints and control arm bushings worn.
