this is my first message in this forum.

when the gas is low my warning light doesn't work.
Any suggestions.

Did you run the tank almost empty? Sometimes the light won't turn on until there's only 1 gallon left in the tank.

Is the bulb blown? Check that also.

If the tank was low on gas and the bulb is good, remove the rear seat and the access panel, and unplug the 3P connector to the fuel sending unit. Use a jumper wire to short the Grn/Yel wire terminal to the Blk wire terminal in the connector. Now turn the key to ON(II). Does the low fuel light turn on in the cluster?

 

is there a fuse associated with the gas light? Im having the same problem and got stuck with no gas without the light coming on.

yes i ran my tank almost empty.
i opened the speedometter panel, the bolb isnt blown! (I swiched this bolb with enother one and tried it- and the bolb worked- so i'm sure that is not blown up!)
i will try this test with the jumper, and soon answer you.

as i know the gas warning bolb isnt connected alone as single to fuze - i mean that if the fuse was burn so we had enother electrical problems in our car.
maybe you try the same suggestion as RonJ told and tell me what happend in yours.

ronj i did it.
i dissconected the 3P connector, it really worked when i connected a jumper. so the prob is not in the bolb.
what should i do now?

Replace the fuel sending unit.

 

there is some electrical unit as i know.
(that works when the remprature is low and then the bolb lights)

can i swich it??

 

Yes, you can buy and replace the fuel sending unit -- remove rear seat, unplug sending unit, and remove six nuts. You can buy the sending unit at Majestic Honda. What Civic trim?

 

i have civic 99 SR 1600 automatic.

 

The sending unit is $61, not including S/H, from Majestic.
