A guy messaged me and said he could sell me a LS tranny for 350 he said his mechanic opened it up and said it looked healthy the guy claimed he never beat on it. Kind of in a bind cuz if i buy it and it needs rebuilding then i might aswell of rebuilt my own any input of what i should do i dont wanna buy the tranny and have my mechamic say i bought a scrap tranny. What should i be looking for specifically if i go check out the tranny? Thanks again

I was in the same boat as you and i choose to rebuild because when you buy a used tranny your buying a "USED" tranny.. You might get lucky but you never know. Again thats just my opinion.. Good luck with whatever you choose..

To do ALL sleeves/hubs/synchros, some/all bearings and seals, as well as maybe a shift fork or something if needed, $1000+ sounds about right. Once rebuilt, be sure to take care of it so you don't need to drop that coin again. :p

I would make 100% absolute sure you want to put that money into an LS trans before you go and do it though.
