Default Will 205/50r17 fit a 1990 Honda civic hatchback hatchback?

I'm 16 and new to the car world and I was wondering if anyone knew? I found some sweet racing rims that have the same bolt pattern and centre bore size for cheap but they are 205's so I wanted to know if I could manage to use these on my ride? Thanks

They're not even going to come close to fitting. Those tires are 11.89% oversized for the car. At most, you shouldn't surpass 3% in either direction.

Realistically, you're not going to safely fit 17's on a comfortable tire size.

Biggest in what dimension? Height, width, or a combination of both?

I'd recommend looking at the FAQ's, as it explains tire sizing rather thoroughly. It also provides good tire size calculators to help you sort out the proper tire size for your application.

What's the goal here? Are you looking for better traction? Is it an aesthetic thing, and you want larger/wider wheels?

I'd slap a 15" wheel on with a 195/50 or 205/50 tire. Best for look and comfort on that small of a car.
