is it possible to do that to all the v6 pilot family just to save some gas?

short answer, no, that is new technology, you cannot convert yours and in real world terms the fuel mileage saving is marginal at best.

 

agreed. I have a 2012 Odyssey and I believe they share the technology. It is absolutely a fluke. so far i have about 700 miles on my Odyssey and best average MPG is 17.2 even though the van is rated 18 city/(28?) highway.

 

Mileage that far from the rated mileage typically means one of 2 things (in descending order of probability):
Driver error
Mechanical issue

 

maybe its my lead foot? otherwise its a brand new van, does it require a break in period?

like i said the van only has 700 miles on it...

 

Different engine designs made to run on 3 cylinders that won't put pressure on main bearings and its balanced for it

 

hondaguy83 by chance do you know if the 2013 pilot came standard with the new earth dream v6 direct injection managment? Or are they still working on it? Cause I know that the 2013 accord has these new features but haven't heard much on the pilot.
