Default swapping b16 gears into a gsr trans

So my gsr trans has the common third gear grind and was wondering how hard is it to swap hydro b16 gears into a hydro gsr trans? Can I put just the b16 gears in my gsr trans or is there other parts that are needed?

Plug and play as long as you change them as matched sets. All synchros, sleeves and shaft bearings are the same between hydro GSR and hydro B16 transmissions.

So I would just order the main shaft and countershaft gears for b16 and upgrade synchs?

If all you have is a 3rd gear grind, why don't you just replace what is needed versus switching over to a full B16 set and buying new gears. Also remember that the B16 uses a different mainshaft. So you would need to buy that as well.

Unless you had a good donor B16 gear stack to use, it is gonna be expensive and not worth the cost to switch over to B16 gears.

You would be better off buying a Type R transmission in good condition at that point.

All the gears are a straight swap except for the mainshaft which will need to be shimmed. Keep the GSR FD (ring gear and countershaft).

Decided I'm going to fix my third gear grind and buy carbon synchros and while I'm in there install a jdm 4.7 final drive
