Default Swapped B16a Tranny id?

I recently purchased a '64 MINI with a B16 swap. I am trying to identify the transmission (S80, Y21, etc.). The barcode sticker on the tranny is missing. Is there another way to simply identify what transmission I have? Want to move to a longer final drive and need to know what I got. Sorry for the newb question.

Thanks

If you are going to swap the final drive. You will need to open the trans of course. Perfect time to do a tooth count and get a positive ID on what transmission you have. Get to work!

Post up your findings and we will help you ID what you got. If it is the original hydro trans from the swap it will have a 4.40 final drive.

I was hoping to ID without taking it apart yet. I have to order a 3.42:1 (or maybe 3.7:1) from the UK and it takes 8-12 weeks. I need to know what tranny type I have to order. Was hoping there was some stamping # somewhere, or perhaps something visual I could use to figure it out.

Sounds like without the barcode I have to take it apart?

You have no prior history on the trans and what may have been done to it. So the best way to know is by opening it. Especially since you are special ordering a part from the UK. Would not risk it. Your choice.

Good point. Guess that's the best approach. Do you or do you know of any US providers of a 3.42 FD? Everything I have seen is 4.05 as the longest.

Always best to be 100% sure. The longest we carry is the 4.0
