In progress of building a ChumpCar. Just cut 2 coils off the front springs and noticed the top perch has a removable pad. I assume it is only there to reduce rattle. Can this thing be safely pulled out? I guess removing it only adding maybe .25"~.5" drop and ever so slightly increasing gross spring rate.

As of now the springs sit securely within the perches even under full droop.
