possable build
After runnin 101 options trough my head on what I want to build I landed on a b20b p8r. The reason is that not many people run b20's around here unless its a b20/vtec and they are don't horibly wrong. I settle on a b20 p8r cause I have a $2000 budget that can't be budged a penny (the wife said $2000 or nothing). I can pick a b20 up for $650 do that leaves me about $1300 to play with. I was thinking, crower 404 cams (unless you guys have a better suggestion), spirngs and retainers, a tri y replica header, blox intake manifold/throttle body. My only concern is that the compression ratio won't be high enough for the cams so I was also debating on up the compression before doing the cams. The car is gonna be used for auto cross in a 91 ed7. I'm not a fan of the low torque b16 that's why I choose the b20. I guess its just the low budget of $1300 for mods is what's getting me.
I also have a b18a1, converted the car to obd1. That's what I am running now. I was also thinkin of possibly finding a build somewhere in this motor. I've never done a ls/vtec but, from what I heard and read is, if you want it to use the heads full potensial, you need to have the crank balanced, new rods and posible new pistons. Also, the oiling system I'm not to sure about. If you guys can feel me in that would be great. I just know trying to build a non vtec b18a1 n/a would be a pritty penny and not sure if its worth it...
